R&D is looking for a Software Developer Machine Control

Would you like to develop and program some of the largest and most advanced control systems for the wind industry? And are you interested in systems design, controls and programming?

As a part of our SW department at R&D A/S, you will work with some of the most skilled developers within the Danish industry. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of different development tasks related to the design, development and programming control systems for industrial test benches.

We develop and deliver complete turnkey test systems to customers within the wind- and aerospace industry. Over the years, we have developed and delivered complete turnkey solutions for a wide range of large and internationally acclaimed companies.

Would you like to influence the control system for our next test bench?

In collaboration with customers and colleagues, you will be responsible for managing demanding and technically challenging development tasks, which also includes commissioning and running-in of test systems - both at home and abroad.

Main assignments: 

  • Design Control System hardware topology
  • Designing and programming of control systems software
  • Participate in commissioning and functional testing on site
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the standards used in R&D's software development

You will be a part of our department in Aarhus, but you will also have the possibility of occasionally working from one of our other offices in Aalborg, Lindø or Berlin.

About you

We expect that you:

  • Have an interest in systems design, controls and programming
  • Have experience in fields related to machine control, such as
    • PLC software development in Structured Text or other similar languages such as Python, C or C++
    • Programming of Real-Time systems
    • Have experience with input and output handling from e.g. PLCs or embedded platforms
    • Basic knowledge of industrial communication busses e.g. RS232, ProfiNET, EtherCAT, OPC UA, TCP/IP etc.
  • Are driven by a passion for problem solving and development, and that you can acquaint yourself with complex systems

Furthermore, it will be a plus if you have experience with some of the following:

  • LabVIEW programming
  • C# programming
  • Have collaborated with colleagues on bigger software projects
  • Knowledge about industrial safety systems such as SICK or PILZ safety controllers
  • Data Acquisition systems
  • Version Control Systems such as GIT or SVN
  • Knowledge about agile software development practices
