Offshore turbines

For our department in Prague we are looking for loads and control engineers for the wind industry.

As a load engineer you will calculate component loads on all major wind turbine components and will develop overview of how a turbine reacts under various wind conditions.

As control engineer you will work with, validation, certification, troubleshooting and maintenance of wind turbine controller. Both positions include:

  • Working with peer Technical Leads, Functional leads and specialists on developing solutions for wind turbines
  • Understanding, Implementing & Testing the change in line with guidelines

Responsibilities

The job is primarily assisting wind turbine manufacturers in development of new turbine or wind farms, e.g. site-specific solutions or wind turbine design loads and development of controller, as well as documentation and certification.

The job contains of using a wind turbine model during all sorts of wind conditions – storm events, normal production, controlled shutdowns etc.

The work may also involve technology development. It also involves high level of engineering i.e. balancing a solution towards various specific requirements. You will mainly work with various aero-elastic simulation software and in-detail time series analyses.

We expect that you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have

either

  • A M.Sc. or Ph.D. within structural-, civil- or mechanical engineering.
  • Solid understanding of structural dynamics and fatigue.
  • Knowledge within dynamic simulation of mechanical systems.

Or

  • A M.Sc. or Ph.D. in electrical or electro-mechanical, instrumentation & controls engineering with controls system background
  • Working experience in Simulation/Modelling tools as MATLAB SIMULINK, control systems for wind turbine or similar energy domain
  • Competence on Mathematical modelling of Electro-Mechanical, Hydraulic Systems

We prefer that you also have knowledge about some of these competences

  • An ability to learn fast within new areas and an innovative mindset.
  • Hands-on approach within calculations and time series analysis.
  • Basic programming skills, preferably in Matlab.
  • Focus on quality and problem-solving.

  • Are result-oriented with a good focus on the task
  • a creative approach to new tasks
