The pitch system is of vital importance to the performance of the wind turbine.

    The structural components of a wind turbine tower are exposed to highly varying loads. These loads may damage the bearings, gears, tower and other components as well as reduce the overall reliability, and even the service life of the wind turbine.
    In this context, a tower vibration damper is an effective way of suppressing the loads, seeing that it reduces low- and high-frequency vibrations in the turbine.

    Achieving the correct bolt pretension is essential in assuring safe operation of the wind turbine. However, the importance of correct bolt pretension is frequently underestimated. Since bolts hold together critical components, incorrect installation can increase the risk of partial or total failure. By focusing on achieving the correct bolt pretension, you can maximise the reliability of the turbine as well as reduce the need for maintenance and downtime.

    The yaw system ensures that the turbine is constantly facing the wind to maximise the effective rotor area and thus the power.
    There are two main designs for yaw braking systems: Active and passive brakes. R&D Product Development Wind has experience within the development of both designs.

    Bolt-Check is our bolt measurement system, which can maximise the reliability of the turbine, as well as reduce the need for maintenance and downtime.

    Wind turbine

    R&D India - a cooperation with Vestas regarding production optimisation of blades

    R&D's department in India has initiated a cooperation with Vestas to optimise the production of wind turbine blades worldwide.

    As a result, it was natural for us to pursue a closer collaboration with R&D, since we are very pleased with their work
